With the prospect of another long, hot Sacramento summer day stretching before us, E & V & I decided to beat the heat and head over toward the ocean. Sausalito beckoned, not because of its delicious shopping and food, but because it hosts the Bay Area Kids Discovery Museum. We had never been, but it's on my Summer List and it was as good of a day as any to see what all the hubbub is all about.
First, we had a little picnic with an incredible view of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, and surrounded by the beauty of Fort Baker. And this momma loved the ample, free parking!
Then, it was time to explore the museum.
There was an AMAZING 2-acre play area with all sorts of activities and areas of exploration.
Besides the outdoor exploration area, there were several buildings with inside exhibits. Honestly, though, they paled in comparison to the outdoor areas.
When asked about their favorite activities of the day, Vivi said, "I liked sitting in the sun and eating my snack." Eli's response: "I liked sitting inside the big tree." Okay, seems like my kids are really into sitting, but they ran around like wild banshees, I swear.
We will definitely be back.
