We had our first official triple digit degree day in Sacramento and I think we can safely exclaim that summer is here! My last day of teaching was Tuesday (so long 2009-2010 school year!) and I have been loafing since then. I return to teaching in mid-August and that seems like so far away, but I know from past vacation experience that it really creeps up on you! So I was inspired by Kelly at her blog Make Grow Gather to make a Summer List - things I want to do this summer before the days slip away. Time to make my summertime goals a reality!
- make ice cream
- pick berries on Robinson Creek
- go camping with the kids
- see a Shakespeare play in an outdoor amphitheater
- go to an old-fashioned 4th of July parade and fireworks display
- swim, swim, swim!
- make strawberry jam
- make pickles
- grow lots of tomatoes
- make pesto
- go to a Sacramento Rivercats (Triple A baseball) game
- take the kids to the Discovery Museum in Sausalito and then take them on the ferry into the City
- walk barefoot in the grass
- lay out in the sun and read a delicious book
- host a fun pool party & barbecue
- go river rafting
- make tomato-basil bruschetta
- take a day trip to Lake Tahoe
- make cheese crackers
- run through the sprinklers
- grill homemade pizzas

- eat lots of watermelon
- make a simple syrup and lemonade from scratch
- make and drink lots of sun tea

- sleep in
- hang up laundry outside to dry

If you make it to Stockton, let me know!
